12 girls from Berlin returned home last week with memories which will last them a life of an America they'd once pictured from the movies. The girls were German exchange scholars who stayed with host families in Manchester during their three-week tour that incorporated a visit to Long Island Town , Chicago and Detroit. They taught songs to children at Klager Elementary, and attended a pep rally at the school.
Next summer, when a bunch of MHS scholars visit Germany, they'll also stay with host families. Something that impressed plenty of the visiting scholars was Manchester's sense of faculty spirit, and the visible pride of the community in class. Heidemarie Kraft and Dagmar Frost, teachers from Berlin who attended as chaperones for the German scholars, announced the Manchester residents are awfully hospitable, and their host scholars shortly felt at home. Frost declared she's been chaperoning the trips for the previous 9 years, staying with JoAnn and Monty Okey. Sarah Wehby, who stayed with the family of Stephen Sheler, said that she was used to living in Berlin, a big town, and was satisfied to have an opportunity to live in an agricultural community. She announced she had taken lots of photos of New York's Central Park, which she loved as
she had visited it before in 2001 and 2003. "We were here for Homecoming, and that was the perfect time to come here and see the faculty spirit.". But Bauer said that Berlin offered more to do outside of faculty, because it absolutely was a bigger town. It is great to do things with the faculty after college, and identify with the team,"she asserted. She announced she had taken a large amount of footage of the trees bearing their colourful fall foliage. Laura Beerman, who stayed with student Katelyn Horning, announced she loved to see the way the families lived in Manchester. "They have extracurricular activities, and they work too, but they also have the time for their families,"she claimed. Rebecca Hesse, who stayed with Kayleen Rouster, declared she had enjoyed speaking to her host ma, Deanna Rouster.
she claimed she had helped with the chores at her host family's house, and went food store shopping. Leonie Weller expounded she loved to go shopping, and had enjoyed a visit to Cedar Point, where she rode a rollercoaster for the 1st time. She claimed she would remember the mates she had made while visiting and would see many of them in Berlin next year.
